Items You Need in a Baby Nursery

Having a baby can be the best thing in your life and preparing the nursery is a lot of fun. Baby showers help, but making a list of the items you'll need makes it easier to be sure you have everything.

Bed

The first thing you need is a place for the baby to sleep. An infant is too small to sleep in a crib, so get a bassinet first.

Diapers

You'll change your baby several times a day, so get plenty of diapers. Get a diaper pail to throw out disposable diapers or collect dirty cloth diapers.

Clothing

You'll need to put a lot of infant clothing in your nursery. Between spills and wetting, infants go through clothing quickly.

Monitor

Get a baby monitor so you can keep tabs on your baby and not worry.

Changing Table

Although it's not an absolute must, a changing table will help. You can store everything you need in a changing table so everything is handy when you change diapers.

Other Items

Other items for a baby nursery are a dresser, a rocking chair or a glider rocker, and a diaper stacker.
