Accessorizing a Foyer Table

Accessorizing a Foyer Table

In many foyers, a table is often the perfect place to create a focal point. With the right accessories, you can make a bold, personal or unexpected statement. Use color, texture, smell and even taste to heighten the senses of all who enter and pass by. Update the accessories to keep the area fresh and welcoming. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place a medium-to-large-size floral arrangement in the center of the table. Choose flowers with colors that complement the color scheme in the area and include a variety with a pleasant but not overpowering smell.

    2

Arrange a grouping of family photos. Use a mixture of frame styles that complement one another. Choose photos and frames of different sizes for more interest.

    3

Make an arrangement of different items such as a vase, a stack of decorative baskets and a dish of candy; the combination of such pieces are both functional and add texture and definition to the table.

    4

Flank a small table lamp on one side of the table and set a small stack of books on the other. Display the books spines and set a book on top with an eye-catching jacket design.

    5

Set a small tabletop fountain on an accent table for something unexpected. Let this accessory stand on its own to prevent creating a crowded or overdone look.
