Ways to Put Table Numbers on Wedding Reception Tables

Ways to Put Table Numbers on Wedding Reception Tables

Table numbers are a helpful way to point guests to their tables at a wedding reception. They are especially useful if you have several guests. You can use a theme or name to assign tables rather than a traditional numbering system. Regardless of the option you choose, your table numbers should not overpower your overall design. They should be clearly visible at each table when guests arrive.

Table Markers

A variety of table markers are available, from chrome-plated steel markers and wire markers to heart-shaped markers and markers fashioned like the bride or groom. The top of the table marker expands just enough to accommodate the card. Its solid base provides stability to keep the card from falling out. You can use table markers to hold the table numbers firmly in place. Then position each marker beside your centerpieces in the middle of each table.

Table Tents

Print your table numbers directly onto table tents that stand on their own. The table tent's flap or base keeps it from tilting during the wedding reception. You can use a vertical or horizontal table tent that folds over as well. To embellish the table tent, decorate it with a ribbon or silk flowers that match your wedding theme and colors. Then position the table tent in the middle of each table beside the centerpiece.

Picture Frames or Table Top Easels

Picture frames and mini easels are inexpensive, but elegant. Picture frames come in different styles, such as beaded, arch, metal and glass. Mini frames may be metal, wood or plastic and can be easily sprayed to the color you want. To add your table numbers, slide the table number into the picture frame or let it rest on the easel. Then set the picture frame or easel on the reception table with the number facing forward.

Centerpieces

Centerpieces for the wedding reception don't have to be expensive or large. In fact, smaller pieces are less likely to be moved at the reception table because guests can see each other. The centerpiece can serve a two-fold purpose, to decorate the reception table and display table numbers. You can use anything from a sculpture or floral arrangement to a dried pine cone sprayed in a metallic color. To add table numbers, nestle it between the centerpiece where it's easy to see. Place the centerpiece in the middle of the table.
