Getting ready for a trade show or convention can mean gathering marketing materials, training staff and making sure you have enough quantities of giveaways. But one way to lure people to your show tent is with a banner. Far more visible than a pile of free magnets lumped on a table, a show-tent banner gets your message across to the masses. Make your own banner using Windows Paint, the Windows operating systems graphics program. With Paint you get to control what goes on your banner as well as text appearance, color and placement, so you can get on with the show.
Instructions
- 1
Launch Paint. Click the drop-down arrow directly below the icon of a painters palette in the top-left corner of the screen.
2Click Properties. Enter dimensions for the show-tent banner into the Width and Height boxes. Click the Inches radio button if it is not already selected. Click the OK button to open the newly sized banner canvas.
3Click one of the colored boxes on the Colors area of the ribbon for the main banner text color. Choose a color that will be easily spotted from a distance and is easy to read, such as dark blue or black.
4Click the A icon in the Tools area of the ribbon. Click the banner. Choose a font and increase the text size to a large font size.
5Type the main banner message, such as Product Demonstrations Here or Free Gift With Consultation, Today Only! Drag the text box so it is in the center of the banner.
6Choose a new text color or keep your current one. Click the banner again, below the main message. Reduce the font size slightly so the text doesnt compete.
7Type additional information for the banner, such as Registration 8:30 a.m. 6:00 p.m. or Guest Speaker Autograph Line Forms on the Side. Center this text box under the first.
8Select a light paint color or one that will not interfere or block the text colors on the banner. Click the paint-bucket icon in the Tools section. Click anywhere in the white of the banner to fill it with color. Skip this step if youll be having the banner printed on colored or metallic vinyl or another precolored design material.
9Click the top-left drop-down arrow once more. Click Save As. Type the banners name in the File name box. Click the Save button.
