How to Decorate a Plain White Wedding Tent

Planning a wedding can be stressful, particularly when it comes to determining where to host the event. Choosing to set up an outdoor tent can solve some space constraints, but you may be worried that the tent will look too plain and austere for a wedding reception. With a few design tips, however, you can turn even the most basic of white tents into a wedding haven that will look every bit as beautiful as a grand hall.

Ask for the exact measurements of the tent before it is put up, so that you can arrange a floor plan. Sketch out a floor plan on a piece of graph paper to determine how many tables will fit inside and where each one will go.

Place tables and chairs inside the tent once it is set up. Cover the tables with linens and set each table with service ware for the wedding meal.

Hang lanterns from the ceiling of the tent. These can be paper lanterns with candles inside that can be lit for the party.

Hang boughs of fabric in swooping swags from the edges of the tent, creating a border of fabric going around the room.

Place a centerpiece of flowers at each table. Also, scatter votive candles around each centerpiece to create a cozy atmosphere.

Scatter rose petals on the ground all around the inside of the tent.
