How to Make a Strolling Buffet Table

How to Make a Strolling Buffet Table

A strolling buffet table is a long, narrow table that is usually put out to display items, hold food for a buffet dinner or to place stacks of plates or glasses for guests to take. A strolling buffet table is lightweight enough to move around as you need it, and you can easily make one yourself at home with a few basic items. Building one yourself will also save costs over purchasing one pre-made from a furniture store.

Instructions

    1

Purchase one plywood board that is two feet by four feet and four 2-by-4 boards that are each about two inches thick. A lumber store or building supply store should be able to cut the pieces to size at no extra cost.

    2

Smooth down each wood piece with sandpaper, removing any rough spots or splinters and smoothing down all of the edges.

    3

Attach the four 2-by-4s, one at each corner of the plywood board, using an electric drill. You now have the four legs of your buffet table, with the plywood board acting as the surface of the table.

    4

Rub some glazing putty over the heads of the screws at the corners of the plywood board so they are hidden. The glazing putty will dry hard, making for one smooth surface on the table top.

    5

Paint the buffet table with an acrylic paint in a color of your choosing. Let dry and apply a second coat. Let dry before using.
