DIY Floating Table Numbers

DIY Floating Table Numbers

Wedding guests are traditionally assigned to tables during the reception. The assignments are made to allow for serving plans, socialization and to reserve seats for couples and families near one another.

Modern themes for table numbers are shifting from the customary card tents. The change provides perfect balance between time-honored and contemporary. A floating table number can be achieved by hanging large numbers from the ceiling, tent top or tree branches. Use your imagination and a few craft supplies to create numbers into whimsical, elegant or seasonal table markers.

Instructions

    1

Measure the height from the ceiling or tree branch to 36" to 48" above the table.

    2

Select a number design. Choose unfinished wood or stencil numbers on a flat medium such as foam board.

    3

Decorate the number using spray paint, glitter or rhinestones. Allow it to dry completely.

    4

Drill or punch a small hole at the top of project.

    5

Thread clear fishing line through the hole. Use the measurements obtained in Step 1 for length.

    6

Hang table numbers above tables during the event's set up.
