From mountains to valleys and rolling hills, Tennessee offers a wealth of campsites, whether you're looking for a primitive site or one equipped with electricity and running water.
Reelfoot Lake State Park
Located in northwestern Tennessee on the 25,000-acre Reelfoot Lake, the park encompasses 280 acres of land with two campgrounds available on a first come, first served basis. The Main Campground on Reelfoot Lake offers 86 wooded sites with 30-amp electric, water, fire ring/grill and picnic table. Tent campers won't have a problem finding a secluded site away from RVs. The Main Campground has a bathhouse, laundry facility and dump station. Airpark Campground offers 14 sites with 30-amp electric, water, fire pit/grill and picnic table, as well as a bathhouse. Reelfoot Lake State Park also has a five-unit motel, visitor and interpretive center, picnic area and five miles of hiking trails. Boaters and anglers can utilize the park's two boat launches and fishing pier, with opportunities to catch crappie, bass and catfish.

Roan Mountain State Park
Roan Mountain State Park is located in northeastern Tennessee's scenic Appalachian Forest, at the base of 6,285-foot Roan Mountain. Tent campers have 20 wooded sites with a fire ring/grill, picnic table and community water spigots. In addition, 87 campsites feature electric, water, fire ring/grill and picnic table. All campsites are on a first come, first served basis. The park also has a group camping area and 30 cabins, in addition to restrooms, showers, a dump station, pool, playground and tennis courts. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking the park's 12 miles of trails through hardwood forest, encompassing many valleys and ridges. Anglers can fish for trout in the Doe River, accessible within the park.

Henry Horton State Park
In central Tennessee, on the shores of the Duck River, tent campers have a choice of sites in Henry Horton State Park, including a group camping area. Set away from the main camping area, 10 primitive campsites offer a fire ring and picnic table. In addition, 19 wooded, tent campsites have community water spigots, a fire ring, grill and picnic table. The park also has 87 campsites with electric, water, a fire ring/grill and picnic table. The 1,140-acre park also has seven cabins and an inn/lodge, as well as a restaurant. Campers can utilize the park's restrooms, showers, dump station, playground, gift shop, pool and 18-hole golf course. Three hiking trails lead through the rolling hills of central Tennessee. The park rents canoes, and anglers can fish the river for bass, red-eye and catfish.
