An entryway is the first part of your home that guests see and decorating this space greets guests and invites them in. Use a table to create a display of decorative elements in your entryway that sets the tone for your home and create a welcoming atmosphere for your friends and family members. Change the decorations on the table each month to keep the display fresh and up-to-date. During January, decorate your table with elements that relate to the winter season and create a cozy look in your entryway. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
- 1
Display pictures of winter scenes on your entryway table. Capture pictures of a snowy landscape around your home, or purchase paintings or photos of snowy landscapes. Place the pictures in frames that coordinate with the decor of your home; wooden frames for a lodge-style home or simple black frames for a contemporary design. Arrange the pictures in a grouping at one of the ends of the table. Place a tall picture toward the back of the arrangement and group smaller pictures in front of it.
2Place candles on the table. Set a collection of different sized white pillar candles on a decorative tray or plate in the middle of the table. Use a silver tray or a ceramic plate featuring images of snowflakes around the rim. Select scented candles for a welcoming aroma in the space.
3Set figurines of snow related items on the end of the table opposite the pictures. Consider a collection of snowmen, polar bears, penguins or a combination of these figurines.
4Scatter pinecones and sprigs of artificial red berries around the surface of the table. Set the pinecones and red berries in random locations, such as in front of or next to the pictures, on the tray or plate of candles and between the collection of figurines.
