How to Choose a Round Table Cloth

How to Choose a Round Table Cloth

Its easy to choose a round table cloth if you keep a few things in mind. A table cloth should drop a minimum of 12 inches but still looks attractive with a drop as deep as 16 inches. For more detail a round or square topper can be placed on top of a round table cloth to add additional color or pattern. Whatever you choose, keep the style, patterns and colors in the room in mind to create a stunning focal point in the room. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Decide what look you want. A more formal look would take the tablecloth to just above the floor.

    2

Measure the diameter of the table. Measure the drop from the table to the floor. Jot these measurements down.

    3

For a classic look, double the average drop of 13 to 16 inches and add that to the diameter to calculate the diameter of the tablecloth. For a floor length tablecloth double the drop from the table to the floor and add that to the table diameter to see what size tablecloth you need. Jot these measurements down.

    4

Choose the size tablecloth that best fits these parameters. Round tablecloths come in standard sizes of 60, 70, 90, 120 and 144 inches. A 70 inch round will fit a table that is between 44 and 60 inches in diameter. A 90 inch tablecloth will fit nicely on tables with diameters 60 to 78 inches.

    5

Stick with standard sizes to keep costs down. However, several retailers offer custom made tablecloths made to fit more uncommon table sizes.
