How to Make a Tent in Your Room With a Sheet

Making a tent out of sheets is an exciting way to spend a rainy day or prepare for a night of spooky ghost stories. Sheet tents, or forts, give you and your friends a private place to hang out during a sleepover, or a comfortable place to read as the night wears on. The way you go about making your tent is entirely up to you, but there are a few tried-and-true methods of fort making that can help to make the process a bit easier and the result more impressive.

Instructions

    1

Clear the room of any small furniture or breakable objects. This helps to make your tent a safe place to play.

    2

Spread the sheet over a large, heavy piece of furniture like a couch or table. This is the anchor for the tent. Secure the sheet with a clothespin or two.

    3

Drape the sheet over a couple of chairs or a table. The more furniture you spread the sheet over, the bigger and more intricate your tent gets.

    4

Place a tripod at the center of your tent and raise it to its maximum height. This elevates the center area and gives you more room to play.

    5

Connect several sheets with clothespins to create a massive tent capable of covering larger areas.
