Cool Tents for Kids

Cool Tents for Kids

Playing hide and seek, building tree houses, or creating forts out of chairs and blankets in the living room are all activities with a tent theme that are common for kids. Tents provide a respite for kids to get away and use their imagination for play. Tents come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Some tents even serve specific purposes such shelter for camping, bed coverings or learning opportunities through play.

Bed

Bed tents attach to the top of the child's bed. These tents allow you to turn the child's bed into a fort, hideaway or indoor camping space. Bed tents are specifically made to be attached to the top of a child's bed so these tents come in shapes, colors and sizes that complement children's rooms. From pink tents and Princess bed tents for girls, to Thomas the Train and Army tents for boys, parents can usually find a bed tent to fit any child's bedroom dcor.

Themes

Theme tents that children can set up on a floor in your home are another option. Themes range from train-shaped tents for boys to Princess castle tents for girls. Child theme tents tend to be easy to erect, so children are usually able to set up the tent with little or no help from adults.

Camping

If you enjoy camping in the backyard or the great outdoors, camping tents made for children are also available. The size of these tents is slightly smaller to fit smaller sleeping bodies than adult tents. In addition, the parts of the tent are child-safe, so small pieces that smaller children can put in their mouths and choke on are usually not included. Parents should still inspect the tent's interior to ensure that items hazardous to small children are not present.

Learning & Fun

Cool tents for kids may also be a hybrid between a tent and a learning or fun game. For example, one tent comes with a scavenger hunt game. The clues and items the children scavenge for include environmental facts and nature facts, or children solve a mystery with the tent. Children can play the game inside of the tent, so it combines fun and play with learning.
