How to Make a Tent Craft

How to Make a Tent Craft

Ahh, the Great Outdoors. Teach your children about camping safety by leading them in an afternoon project in which you make camping accessories out of construction paper and art supplies you have around your house. Allow your children time to decorate and draw on a piece of construction paper before cutting and folding the paper into a tent. Then, roast some marshmallows.

Instructions

    1

Place one sheet of 12-by-4-inch construction paper on a flat work surface. Decorate the sheet by drawing on it with markers, crayons, colored pencils or glitter glue. Allow to dry if you use glue and glitter.

    2

Select a blue piece of 12-by-6-inch construction paper and place it on your flat work surface. Cut around the edges of the piece of paper so that the paper has the appearance of a curvy pond.

    3

Fold the decorated piece of paper in half and "stand" it up so that it as the appearance of a tent. Glue the bottom of the tent onto the blue sheet of paper. Allow to dry.

    4

Embellish your camp scene with small twigs or rocks, which you can form into a campfire just outside the tent. Also, consider cutting out fish from construction paper and gluing them on the pond.
