How to Use an Electronic Steam Press

How to Use an Electronic Steam Press

The electronic steam press is an at-home machine that can steam and iron garments like a professional, while reducing ironing time by up to 50 percent. The machine features an ironing surface that is up to seven times larger than a traditional hand-held iron and an attached table that is covered with a non-stick ironing pad. The temperature on the electric steam press can be regulated and the iron can be set for steam and dry ironing. Operating the machinery requires a couple of easy steps and once completed, the press can be folded and stored. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place the steam press on a sturdy surface and fill the water tank, before plugging in the appliance. Some models might require that the pressing plate be lifted to ensure that the water does not fall onto the presses ironing surface. Once the water is in the machine, and the cover has been replaced, plug it in and turn on the power.

    2

Regulate the machine's temperature to suit the fabric of the garment that will be ironed. Lower settings are often used for silk and rayon and higher settings can help get stubborn wrinkles out of linens and cottons. If the ironer is working with many garments at one time, start with the more delicate clothing on a cooler iron and work toward the heavier fabrics that require higher heat.

    3

Place the garment on the ironing board or bottom part of the steam press. Smooth the fabric to eliminate any obvious puckers or ruffling. Grasp the handle of the pressing plate and lower the top of the press so that it is just closed. This amount of pressure should be sufficient for delicate garments. However, for heavy duty garments hold the handle down firmly, until the plate is in its lowest position.

    4

Release the steam to help get stubborn wrinkles out of clothing. There is usually a steam button located on the close to the handle. After depressing the button, keep the press's lid down for six to eight seconds. Then, lift the lid and inspect the garment. If it is sufficiently ironed, the garment can be removed from the board. However, if the garment is still wrinkled, lower the head again and allow it to be pressed for an additional eight seconds.

    5

Switch the electric steam press off, immediately after the ironing is complete and disconnect it from the outlet.
