Covering a round table with a tablecloth you have made is an inexpensive way to give the room a new look. Round tablecloths are circular in shape and extend a few inches down from the tabletop or all the way to the floor. Round tablecloths require more fabric to make than you might think. Because of this, it is important to measure before you purchase fabric.
Instructions
- 1
Measure the diameter of the table. This is the width of the table, starting at one edge and going straight across the center to the opposite edge. Note the measurement.
2Measure the drop. This is the measurement from the tabletop to the place where you want the tablecloth to fall. Note the measurement.
3Multiply the drop measurement by two and add it to the diameter measurement. Add 1 inch to that number for the hem allowance to figure out the total circular diameter for the tablecloth.
